I design lessons around skill building, curriculum connections and team building experiences. Depending on the age and experience of the participants, content and material can be adjusted to connect and inspire all learners and artists.
Tessellations
1) Creating Shapes
Together we’ll explore the art and math of the tessellation. And, as we connect with the art and each other, we’ll use our new found knowledge to create original shapes… ready to be tessellated!
With both the creation of the tile and the finished tessellations, we’ll explore colour, line, shape and other design principles… and discuss how every piece and choice will help create a masterpiece ready to be framed.
2) Creative Collaboration
With a pile of freshly cut tiles, we’ll explore the meaning of connections using story telling, colour and acrylic paint.
We’ll play with a variety of techniques while everyone makes their own creative choices to finish a set of tessellated tiles.*
*If Part 1 was completed then the tiles could be their own designs.
Photoshop
101 For Creatives
Want to create with Photoshop but not sure where to start?
This workshop is designed for beginners and will lead participants through a project that will introduce a number of essential tools and techniques. I have project ideas ready to go but, if you have a specific request… then I can integrate your theme into the project and process!
We’ll cover the ‘basics’ including Layers, Blending Modes and Transformations while providing you with a foundation that will build your abilities and confidence to create amazing work!
102 For Photographers
Ready to take your photos to the next level?
This workshop is designed for photographers looking to finish their photos using Photoshop. We’ll start with slight adjustments but then move quickly to larger ‘fixes’ and modifications.
We’ll cover everything you need to know to finish your photos including Adjustment Layers, Masking and the Healing Brush. And, using your own photos, we’ll explore the tools and techniques along with some thinking and problem solving to help refine your process and photography skills.
Photoshop workshops can be taken multiple times with different projects to review techniques and test your skills!
Adobe Photoshop is recommended but not required. Instead you can use the free Photopea.com
Photography
Photowalk
Connect with the environment and each other as you explore and learn about your camera and the art of photography.
Are you looking to improve composition? Understand manual controls? Or are you just looking to figure out the basics? As locations, participants and skill levels vary… so do the walks! They can be designed with a goal or project in mind or they can simply be about collaboration and learning.
Whatever the purpose, the walk is designed for all skill levels and any camera (DSLR to phone). And, as we capture and explore, instruction may include but is not limited to: Camera Functions, Composition & Story Telling, Image Settings, Partial to Full Manual Control.
Adobe Lightroom
Capturing the image is only half the story!
From slight adjustments to larger corrections, this workshop will introduce photographers to Adobe Lightroom and key features in its development mode. We’ll explore tools, tricks and techniques along with some thinking and problem solving to help refine your process and photography skills.
Participants can simply watch the magic unfold or follow along with their own laptop loaded with Lightroom and collection of photos.
Photography workshops can be taken multiple times in various settings and with a variety of collections to review techniques and test your skills!
